Get all the Latest Instagram Updates Right Here!

Can you believe we are officially in the second half of 2020? This year has certainly been one for the record books and challenged us all. As a small business, these have been very trying times. Facebook & Instagram have been working diligently to bring us new features to help us through.

Social Media usage is up 40% and we hope you can use these tools to increase your brand awareness and bring in more revenue.

#1 You now can share your Live videos directly to IGTV

Instagram Launched a new button that allows you to upload your Instagram Lives directly to IGTV when you are done.

Sharing your Instagram Live to IGTV is a great way to get more eyes on your content and reach new audiences. Now your Live videos have a much longer shelf life than just 24 hours. The new feature also makes it super easy to start building out your IGTV channel!

Tip: Prep your cover photo, caption, and description before going live! (see video below)

Don’t forget: You can add clickable URL links to your IGTV caption. Where can you convert viewers into paying customers?

#2 Instagram creates its own version of Zoom that features Meeting Rooms of up to 50 attendees in a video call.

Like a virtual conference call, you can set up and invite anyone to join a call, no need to pre-plan or set a time in the calendar.

How to Set Up Instagram Messenger Rooms:

Messenger Rooms on Instagram are simple to create.

You can then invite up to 50 people from your Instagram account to join your room.

You can also copy a direct link to your Room and share it elsewhere so anyone with the link can join.

How to Create a Messenger Room on Instagram: (or watch video below)

Step 1: Open your Instagram Direct Messages tab and tap the video call icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Select Create a Room and invite your Instagram contacts or copy a direct link to your Room.

To join a video call that you have been invited to, select Join Room, and confirm when prompted that you want to open the room in the Messenger app. Facebook has plans in the works for users to charge attendees to join a Messenger Room virtual call or Facebook Live event.

#3 New Stickers to Help Small Businesses

To use Instagram’s new sticker, open the stories camera, and snap a photo or video as you normally would.

Once you are happy, open the stickers tray and select the Support Small Business sticker.

Next, type the name of the small business you want to support.

Once you hit publish, your story will be added to a shared Instagram story, so your followers can see it along with other businesses that people they follow are supporting.

There have been so many great new features added to help small businesses engage and bring brand awareness.

Let us know in the comments which of these features you are most excited for?
